Being a good leader need to know different leadership styles depending on the situation and team member. Depending on team members’ competency in their task areas and commitment to their tasks, your leadership style should vary from one person to another. You may even lead the same person one way sometimes and another way at other times.

The purpose of this course is to support managers and supervisors in flexing their management style to match the (situational) development level of their people and ‘task needs’ on an individual and team ‘task by task’ basis. This experiential course is designed to create a safe environment for the participants to practice and receive coaching on varying Leadership Style to match the situation. You will find that your effectiveness in managing people, time and resources will increase. You will be able to respond to the many different personnel needs and situations in the most appropriate manner.

  • How an effective leader uses Directing, Coaching, Supporting and Delegating


  • Diagnose the commitment and competence of the people you manage
  • Match the appropriate leadership style to the development level of each person you manage
